Add Extra Years To Your Life With This Diet
So most of us want to shed a few pounds before the big Christmas feast arrives. Whilst we are told that dieting is the best way, maybe changing what we eat will make the difference. The diets of most countries are proven to be healthier compared to our greasy big macs and processed food. The Asian diet seems to be popular with the crowd, and recently it was proved why. Being ranked the 5th healthiest diet in the world, the Japanese way of eating can not only help improve your health but add years to your life.
The mix of raw fish, vegetables and green tea, according to The Independent, helps boost the women life expectancy to 86.4 years whilst in the UK it is only 82.2 years. The Office of National Statistics says that it is possible for English women to reach this age if they adopt the Japanese way of eating. How do they do it? Through low calorie meals and controlled portion sizes.
One simple, inexpensive recipe which you can achieve at home, is the Miso Soup. This is a traditional dish in Japan, it can be easily made with one key ingredient: miso paste.
Here is a recipe, which we made ourselves. It consists of ingredients we bought from the local supermarket in the UK, Waitrose.

Chicken
Breast (Optional)

Method:
1. Put 500ml of water into a pan, dice the chicken and use this water to boil it. (Optional)2. While waiting, peel the carrot and shred it. Also, cut the salad onion into small pieces.
3. When the chicken is cooked, take it out. Now, you can either change the water and start fresh or carry on using the same water. If you don’t change it, this water will be the same as chicken stock and will therefore give you more flavour. If needed, you can add more water so that there is 500 ml in the pan.
4. We will use 2 out of the 4 packets of miso paste from the box, 1 packet is used for 1 cup of water and since we are using 500ml of water, we will be using 2. Empty the 2 packets into a little bowl and add the water from the pan, use a spoon to mix the water and paste together so there are no lumps. This will ensure that while making the soup, there are no lumps left at the bottom, then empty it into the pan.
5. Mix the water and paste in the pan, add the carrot and chicken and leave this to simmer for a couple of minutes.
6. Add egg noodles into the soup, the pack of egg noodles is divided into bunches inside, 1 should be enough for this dish since it is rather filling.
7. While the noodles are softening in the pan, cut up half of the tofu and dice it. Add this after the noodles are soft, it is best to add this last so that it doesn’t get broken up while you’re stirring or adding the noodles.
8. You can add the salad onion now and stir it into the soup or sprinkle it on top of the dish before it is served.
