The Twelve Days of Christmas is the festive Christian season, beginning on Christmas Day (25 December), that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, as the Son of God. Why not try these seasonal favourites?
 

1. Santa Shot 

A small red and green layered shot.

Ingredients (1 serving)
• 1 part grenadine syrup
• 1 part green creme de menthe
• 1 part peppermint schnapps
Combine all

2. Hot Apple Cider

As its cold outside why not try a hot apple cider to warm up your body.
Ingredients (1 serving)
• 
1/4 (64 fluid ounce) bottle apple cider
 • 
3/4 cinnamon sticks
 • 
1/4 teaspoon whole allspice 
1/4 teaspoon whole cloves
In a slow cooker, combine apple cider and cinnamon sticks. Wrap all the spices and cloves in a small piece of cheesecloth, and add to pot. Stir in the brown sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat, and keep warm for around 1 hour.


3. Hot Mulled Wine

An easy mulled wine recipe for the festive season.
Ingredients (2 serving)


• 
1/3 cup boiling water
• 
1 tablespoon and 2-1/4 teaspoons white sugar
• 

1/8 lemon
• 

1-3/4 whole cloves 

• 
1/4 (3 inch) cinnamon stick 

• 
1/4 (750 milliliter) bottle claret wine
Stir water and sugar together in a saucepan until sugar dissolves. Add lemon, cloves, and cinnamon stick; bring mixture to a boil and cook until flavors combine for around 10 mins. Strain and return water mixture to the saucepan; discard lemon, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Stir claret wine into water mixture; heat until hot but not boiling, 5 to 10 minutes. Serve flecked with nutmeg.


4. Creamy Hot Chocolate

This drink will warm you up for christmas, and is great for chocolate lovers.
Ingredients (1 serving)
• 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
• 3 tablespoons white sugar
• 1/4 pinch salt
• 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon
• boiling water
• 3/4 cup and 2 tablespoons milk
• 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons half-and-half cream
Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.

5. Spiced Cappuccino 

Why not make this classic italian drink, which can taste like one from a cafe?
Ingredients (2 serving)
• 1 cup hot brewed espresso 


• 1/4 cup flavored liquid nondairy creamer, such as amaretto, Irish creme, or French vanilla 


• dash ground cinnamon 


• 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream 


• dash ground cardamom
Stir together the hot espresso, creamer, and cinnamon in a glass measure. Pour into 2 mugs. Add a scoop of ice cream to each and sprinkle with cardamom. Makes 2 (6-ounce) servings.

6. Cranberry Punch

This drink is great for holiday parties to share with all your friends and family.
Ingredients (2 serving)
• 
1/2 liter cranberry-apple juice
• 3/8 liter ginger ale
• 5/8 limes, thinly sliced 

• 2 sprigs fresh mint 

• 2 cups ice
Half-fill 6 tall glasses with ice. Fill to about three quarters with cranberry-apple juice. Pour ginger ale evenly into the glasses. Stir gently. Decorate with lime and mint sprigs.


7. Eggnog

Eggnog is a delicious traditional holiday drink, best made fresh and served immediately!
Ingredients (2 serving)
• 1 eggs
• 
1/8 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
• 
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 
2/3 cup and 1 tablespoon milk
• 
1 tablespoon and 2-3/4 teaspoons heavy whipping cream
• 1/8 pinch ground nutmeg
Beat eggs; mix in condensed milk, vanilla, quart of milk and salt. Beat the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Fold in to egg and milk mixture and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve chilled.

8. Elit Midnight Millionaire Cocktail 

This is a simple cocktail to make and great for a celebratory occasion like Christmas.
Ingredients (1 serving)
• 1 oz Stoli Elit
• Perrier Jouët Fleur de champagne
• Raspberry for garnish
Pour the vodka into a Champagne flute.  Fill it with Champagne. Drop a single raspberry in the glass as a garnish.


9. Blue New Year Cocktail 

A bright blue new year cocktail, for a new year.
Ingredients (2 serving)
• 1 oz Captain Morgan® Parrot Bay coconut rum
• 3 oz pineapple juice
• 1/4 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
Pour ingredients over ice and stir. Garnish with a cherry (optional)


10. Hot Buttered Rum

This is a classic hot drink for winter to keep you warm.
Ingredients (2 serving)
• 1/2 ounce butter
• 1/2 ounce brown sugar
• 1/2 ounce confectioners' sugar 

• 1 tablespoon and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla ice cream, softened 

• 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Blend in brown sugar and confectioners' sugar. Remove from heat, and whisk in the ice cream, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour mixture into a plastic container, seal, and freeze. In a coffee mug, measure 1 tablespoon Hot Buttered Rum Batter and 1 fluid ounce of rum, then fill cup with boiling water. Stir, and sprinkle top of drink with nutmeg.

11. Brandy Cocktail

A simple festive cocktail, which is easy to do.
Ingredients (1 serving)
• 2 oz brandy
• 1/4 tsp sugar syrup
• 2 dashes bitters
• 1 twist lemon peel
Stir all ingredients (except lemon peel) with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Add the twist of lemon peel and serve.

12. Peppermint Hot Chocolate

A warm cup of hot chocolate with a peppermint twist.
Ingredients (2 serving)
•
 1/4 cup white sugar
• 
2 tablespoons hot cocoa mix
• 
1/2 dash salt
• 
2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons hot water 

• 
2 cups whole milk 

• 
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 

• 
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
Mix the sugar, cocoa mix, and salt into the water in a saucepan until completely dissolved. Bring the mixture to a boil; cook and stir at a boil for 2 minutes. Stir the milk, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract through the mixture. Continue cooking until hot, but do not bring to a boil. Serve hot.
